I’m a freelance writer, editor, fact checker and photographer. I cover a variety of things, from food and farms to wildlife and environmental policy. Anything to do with our relationship and place in the outdoors. My work appears in Sierra, Earth Island Journal, Bitterroot, Edible East Bay, as well as material for nonprofits and research institutes like Berkeley Public Health, the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper and elsewhere.
I currently live in the hills above Berkeley, California, but I’ve also called Texas, Georgia, and Montana home. When not working, I'm likely on a trail with my wife Mindy and 5-year-old shorthaired pointer, Davy. I run my story ideas by them.
