I’m a writer, editor, fact checker and photographer. My work covers topics from agriculture and industry to wildlife and natural history — mainly anything to do with our past, present, and future relationship with the natural world — and appears in Bitterroot, Sierra, Earth Island Journal, Edible East Bay, Texas Tribune, KUT (Austin’s NPR affiliate), and elsewhere.

I currently live in the hills above Berkeley, California, but I’ve also called Texas, Georgia, and Montana home. When not working, I'm likely on a trail with my wife Mindy and 5-year-old shorthaired pointer, Davy. I run my story ideas by them.
